Buying a home in Brandon
Brandon is an unincorporated community in eastern Hillsborough County, about 20 minutes from downtown Tampa along I-4, the Selmon Expressway and SR-60. It’s popular with commuters, families and military buyers connected to MacDill.
Established neighborhoods like Bloomingdale, Providence Lakes and Kings Mill mix older single-family homes with HOA communities. Older roofs and systems can affect insurance, and insurance is part of your monthly cost, so we look at it early.
Just east and south, Valrico, Seffner and FishHawk Ranch in Lithia offer newer homes and larger lots. Some newer communities carry Community Development District (CDD) fees on the property tax bill, which lenders count, so I’ll help you find them up front.
